BSCC is a working club. Beyond open range time, the calendar fills up with quarterly meetings, sporting clays, youth events, conservation work, and community outreach — all run by members.
Club meetings are held quarterly. Weather permitting, meetings take place at the BSCC range clubhouse. The agenda covers director reports, business updates, and upcoming activities. Watch the calendar and your member email for notices.
BSCC Sporting Clays are open to members and the public every Thursday evening May through mid-September. Show up between 4:30 and 6:00 PM to be assigned to a squad of 4–6 shooters. We also shoot selected Sunday afternoons through the winter. This is fun, non-competitive shooting — no one records hits or misses.
The BSCC Board allows a small game hunt on club property during January and February. This is a shotgun-only hunt for small game such as rabbit, squirrel, grouse, and crow. No pheasant hunting. No rifles. The hunt is geared toward youth but all members are welcome. Donations of harvested game for the wild game feed are greatly appreciated.
BSCC hosts an annual 3D Archery Shoot open to club members and the public. The shoot is a two-day event featuring a walking course of 30 targets spread over much of the beautiful 118-acre club property. Plan for up to two hours to shoot the entire course. Youth are welcome with adult supervision. Crossbows are not permitted.
Each year BSCC provides a free annual Youth Shoot — our club's largest undertaking. We typically serve over 300 parents and children with the help of over 60 volunteers. This is our #1 community outreach event.
An Envirothon is an outdoor, hands-on learning experience for high school students. It centers around five learning stations — soils, wildlife, water resources, forestry, and current environmental issues — each staffed by subject-matter professionals.
